This study centered on understanding homophobia and inclusion among students from three public universities located in the center, gulf and southeast regions of Mexico. This article presents the results of a word association instrument, whose inductive term was homosexual, applied to 168 youth. Field information was systematized and organized into three categories: inclusive, homophobic and neutral expressions. Results showed a prevalence of utterances that were homophobic (49.4%), followed by inclusive (27.9%) and neutral (22.7%). A word web with the 10 words of greater semantic weight is also presented, where 63.4% of words are inclusive, 20.6% homophobic and 13% neutral. According to the results, it can be stated that homophobia is still present in this sample of students.
